Traffic at a standstill for the 2025 National Gathering of Alpini in Biella: the Red Cross relies on Tricy

From 9 to 11 May 2025, Biella will host the 95th National Gathering of the Alpini mountain corps: an event that will bring thousands of visitors to the city and involve the closure of many roads. In this complex scenario, the Biella division of the Italian Red Cross will rely on the support of Tricy, our electric cargo bike designed for the sustainable transport of people, animals and goods.

Tricy at the service of medical assistance

During the three-day gathering, Tricy will be at the side of Red Cross volunteers to facilitate their movements and the transport of medical supplies in areas closed to normal traffic. With its robust frame, reinforced cargo box and highly efficient electric motor, Tricy is a practical, agile and emission-free solution, perfect for handling emergency situations in a crowded place, as Biella will be during the event.

“We’re proud to be supporting the Italian Red Cross during such an important and heartfelt event as the National Gathering of Alpini”, the Tricy team stated; “our vehicle is designed as a sustainable alternative for day-to-day transport, but we’re delighted to demonstrate its additional usefulness in challenging emergency situations.”

Sustainable transport even during high-intensity events

This collaboration is part of the national “CRI in Bici” scheme, a new bicycle-based first-aid service developed by the Italian Red Cross to provide medical assistance in areas difficult to access by ambulance: parks, limited traffic zones, historic city centres and events involving large numbers of people.

The CRI in Bici volunteers are kitted out with first aid backpacks, emergency kits and specific training for rapid, localised interventions. Tricy lends itself perfectly to this purpose:

The spacious box can comfortably contain oxygen and the first aid backpack (which would be carried on the back on a conventional bicycle); the jointed front frame makes riding agile, like a bicycle, but more stable; assisted pedalling makes for faster movement and reduces fatigue.

A common cause

Tricy was created to encourage more responsible urban mobility and make people’s day-to-day lives easier. Both these goals are fully met by this joint action with the Italian Red Cross on such an auspicious occasion.

Throughout the event, Tricy will be working with the Red Cross, and easily recognisable by its custom livery designed for the occasion.
